On a state visit to Norway, President Maia Sandu was received at the Royal Palace by Their Majesties - King Harald and Queen Sonja.

"Welcome to a state visit to Norway, President of Moldova Maia Sandu! It is the first time that a Moldovan president is visiting Norway, and the state visit marks the fact that the ties between Moldova and Norway have strengthened in recent years", reads the message of the Royal House posted on Facebook.

We mention that Maia Sandu pays a state visit to Oslo, between May 6-7. It is the first visit to Norway by a president of the Republic of Moldova.

The agenda of the visit also includes a meeting with the President of the Storting, the Legislative forum of the Kingdom of Norway, Masud Gharah-khani. A meeting with the members of the Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and Defense will also take place at the Parliament.

On Monday evening, a State Banquet will be held at the Royal Palace in Oslo in honor of President Maia Sandu, where the king will also give a speech.

The state visit will continue on May 7, with several events scheduled, including a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre.

Also, the delegation from Chisinau will participate in the energy round table at the Norwegian Development Cooperation Agency, with speeches by the president Maia Sandu and the energy ministers of the two countries Terje Aasland and Victor Parlicov.

During the day, there will be other meetings in an extended format, at the Norwegian Institute of Foreign Affairs, but also at the University of Oslo, where the president Maia Sandu will give a public speech about the situation in the Republic of Moldova and in the region in the context of the war started by the Federation Russian in Ukraine.
