The leadership of the Republic of Moldova, on the summoning of Ambassador Lilian Darii to Moscow: "It is a gesture of arrogance. Russia must respect its commitments"

The Russian Federation must respect its commitments, declared Prime Minister Dorin Recean in reaction to the summoning of the Moldovan ambassador to Moscow, Lilian Darii, by the Russian Foreign Ministry to hand him a note of protest.

"The Russian side, first of all, should respect its commitments. The first commitment is to respect the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, to respect the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and to take its troops home. This is a letter in which the Russian Embassy in Chisinau informs the Government of the Republic of Moldova that there is no Russian company that is going to deliver natural gas to the left bank of the Nistru. In essence, the Kremlin said that, look, we have no intention of delivering natural gas," Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized.

The Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, also reacted to this topic during the "La 360 de grade" program on Radio Moldova.

"It is a gesture of arrogance and disrespect from the so-called Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation towards us. This is not the first time they have shown this disrespect, not only through such invitations or summons of the ambassador but also through the ubiquitous statements made by the bearers of insults towards us, as well as the so-called minister of this institution. They must respect the Republic of Moldova and then maybe we will come to a time when we will have better relations. Now these relations are not at all”, said the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu.

We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Moscow, Lilian Darii, to convey an official protest in connection with the recent statements of a political party from Chisinau.

On January 24, the Moldovan National Party requested this, accusing Ozerov of not presenting his credentials to the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova and without this official document, he has no right to present himself as an ambassador and carry out diplomatic activities on the territory of our country. Regarding the information according to which the Russian Federation could expel Ambassador Lilian Darii, the Prime Minister could not confirm this, stating that, at this stage, there is very limited communication with Moscow.
