Mihai Isac on the funding offered by the EU: "It depends on us to have the capacity to absorb these funds"
Today's decision of the European Parliament is a signal of the strong support that the Republic of Moldova enjoys at the level of the European Union, said expert Mihai Isac on the "Zi de Zi" show on Radio Moldova. To benefit from this support, our country must develop well-defined projects and ensure efficiency in the use of resources, said the expert.

"This money will not be brought in a bag and left on Stefan cel Mare blvd. This money will be allocated only to projects aimed at supporting the Republic of Moldova. The European Union will not allow this money to be stolen and it is necessary for the authorities in Chisinau, together with other structures from civil society, to take measures to create strong institutions to fight corruption," said Mihai Isac.
This agreement is also a test for the Republic of Moldova. If the funds are used wisely, transparently and legally, then we could expect a considerable increase in the means allocated by the European Union.
“We must understand that the amount of 1.8 billion euros will be supplemented after this money is spent on approved and implemented projects. But it depends on us to have the capacity to absorb these funds and build the infrastructure necessary for a better life. Hospitals, roads, kindergartens, schools, investments in education, investments in cross-border infrastructure, investments in the energy sector”, said Mihai Isac.
We remind you that today, the European Parliament adopted the report on the economic growth program for the Republic of Moldova worth 1.8 billion euros. The final negotiations with the Council of the European Union are coming up, and, according to Romanian MEP Siegfried Mureșan, the package should enter into force in March.
