Moldova’s PM nominates Dorin Junghietu as Energy Minister
On February 18, Prime Minister Dorin Recean proposed the appointment of Dorin Junghietu as Minister of Energy, submitting his nomination to President Maia Sandu.

Despre aceasta a anunțat prim-ministrul pe pagina sa de Facebook.
The announcement was made on the Prime Minister’s official Facebook page.
“An expert in gas and energy, with over 16 years of international experience in coordinating and implementing major energy projects, Mr. Junghietu now faces the critical responsibility of managing this strategic sector,” Recean stated.
According to the Prime Minister, the government’s key priorities until the end of the year include strengthening the country’s energy security to ensure stable and predictable gas and electricity supplies, securing the most favorable tariffs, and advancing major investment projects—particularly in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the timely completion of the Vulcănești-Chișinău transmission line.
In the fall of last year, Dorin Junghietu was selected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Moldovagaz, but Gazprom has yet to approve his appointment.
“In these circumstances, I am convinced that his expertise is best utilized in the role of Minister,” Recean emphasized.
It is worth noting that on December 5, Prime Minister Recean called for the resignations of Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, interim Energocom General Director Victor Bînzari, and Sergiu Tofilat, a member of the Moldovagaz Supervisory Board, accusing them of failing to take the necessary measures to secure the country’s natural gas supply. Until a new Minister of Energy is appointed, Recean has personally assumed responsibility for managing the sector.
