Entrepreneurs will receive energy compensation by the end of 2025

Economic agents will receive compensation for electricity by the end of 2025, not by March as previously announced. The decision was approved today by the Government, which allocated over 300 million lei, money provided by the EU. Also, the deadline for submitting the request was extended to 30 days from the date of issuance of the invoice.

According to the Minister of Energy Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, about 10 thousand entrepreneurs are eligible for these compensations. Thus, the Government will continue to compensate 50% of the increase in electricity tariffs for economic agents.

*„We are talking about 300 million lei, money to support our entrepreneurs, so that they can be competitive and face challenges. People have business plans, people have bank loans, people have salaries to pay, and this increase needs to be absorbed by entrepreneurs. 50% of the tariff increase is compensated from the difference in increase," Alaiba stated.

Entrepreneurs can submit their compensation requests online through two digital platforms, and the money is provided directly to their card.

*The compensation module is available both in EVO and in MCabinet for eligible groups of entrepreneurs. Any eligible entrepreneur selects the module and clicks the submit application button.

"The most important thing is that the money is delivered directly to the beneficiaries' accounts, and the beneficiaries can select the account where the money will be delivered," explained Nicoleta Colomeeț, director of the Electronic Government Agency.

Also, according to the amendments, the criterion that required electricity expenses to constitute at least 3% of the company's revenues to qualify for support will be eliminated. The program to compensate for the increase in electricity prices for enterprises has a total budget of 300 million lei, funds provided by the European Union.
