Between 1997 and 2024, the ECtHR ruled that the Republic of Moldova had committed 812 violations of human rights under the European Convention on Human Rights, as reported by the cited source.

In 31% of cases, the right to a fair trial was violated. The authorities acknowledged, and the ECtHR condemned, the use of torture in 24% of cases, while violations of the right to liberty and security accounted for 13%. These findings highlight systemic challenges in Moldova's adherence to human rights standards and underscore the need for reforms to ensure compliance with international obligations.
