Moldova General Prosecutor Ion Munteanu declares assets for 2024

General Prosecutor Ion Munteanu has submitted his declaration of assets and personal interests for 2024.

Over the past year, the chief prosecutor earned a monthly salary of approximately 55,000 lei (~2,700 euro) and an additional 190,000 lei from the sale of a vehicle. He also expanded his real estate holdings by acquiring a fourth plot of land outside city limits.

In 2024, the General Prosecutor reported earnings exceeding 667,000 lei from the General Prosecutor’s Office. Ion Munteanu and his family reside in a private home measuring over 105 square meters, valued at more than 1.2 million lei, which they received as a donation in 2017.

Last year, the Munteanu family owned three plots of land outside city limits, acquired between 2017 and 2022, with a total market value of nearly 20,000 euros. That same year, the General Prosecutor’s family purchased another plot for 6,000 euros.

The General Prosecutor’s family owns three vehicles. In March 2024, Ion Munteanu sold a Dacia Duster for 190,000 lei and later bought a newer model of the same make for 215,000 lei.
