Ilie Bolojan and Donald Tusk discuss in Brussels regional security and support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova

Regional security and support for Ukraine and Moldova were the main topics discussed in Brussels on Thursday during a meeting between Romanian acting President Ilie Bolojan and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The two leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening NATO's Eastern Flank in light of threats from Russia.

"Together with Poland's Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, we have agreed to continue our coordination as strategic partners and close allies. We will also support Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. We have aligned our positions on prioritizing the strategic interest of consolidating the Eastern Flank", wrote Ilie Bolojan posted on his Facebook page.

He also expressed Romania's support for Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will take place from January to June 2025.
