Cross-border intervention: a minor in serious condition, transported from the Republic of Moldova to Romania

An 11-year-old child, in serious condition, was transferred from the Republic of Moldova to Romania to receive specialized medical care. The cross-border intervention happened on the evening of April 24.
According to the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance, the minor was initially admitted to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau, on March 31, with a severe pathology. During his stay in the hospital, the child underwent the necessary investigations and appropriate treatment.
However, the minor's condition remained very serious, with no positive evolution. After a series of extensive medical consultations, the Moldovan doctors and their colleagues from Romania decided to transfer the patient to the Cluj-Napoca County Emergency Clinical Hospital, where he will benefit from specialized neurosurgical treatment.
The minor was transported by the SNCTI ambulance, which ensured continuous monitoring of the child's vital parameters during the route to the Leușeni border crossing point. The patient was taken over by the SMURD Iași crew and was transported to the hospital in Cluj.
