People with 40 years of contributions receive a higher pension starting today

Individuals with a minimum of 40 years of contributions will benefit from an increased minimum pension of 3,300 lei, effective immediately. The government approved this decision on April 23.

People who have spent many years working in fields such as education, agriculture, social assistance, and other sectors with lower incomes will receive higher pensions.

According to the government, the National Social Insurance House will automatically adjust the pensions for eligible beneficiaries, so individuals do not need to submit an application.

Pensions increased by 10% this year, which is higher than the average inflation rate projected for 2024.

In late February, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, signed amendments to the Law on the Public Pension System, which include a rise in the minimum pension for those who have contributed to the social insurance system for at least 40 years. The President has also collaborated with the government to ensure that all pensions are indexed by 10% this year, surpassing the average inflation rate expected in 2024.
