Airline scandal: passenger fined 35,000 lei for aggressive behavior onboard

A 36-year-old man was fined 35,000 lei for causing a disturbance on a flight from London to Chisinau. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the incident occurred on December 15 of last year, just as the plane was preparing to land at Chisinau International Airport.
The defendant instigated a conflict with both passengers and crew members, using bad words and threatening them with physical violence. Due to his aggressive behavior, the aircraft's captain could not initiate the landing procedure, prompting several passengers to intervene and restrain him.
Upon landing, the defendant continued his violent behavior and resisted law enforcement, necessitating the involvement of border police to take him into custody.
In court, the defendant admitted his actions.
The prosecutor's office emphasizes that violent behavior in public spaces, especially aboard aircraft, carries criminal consequences and poses a significant risk to the safety of passengers and crew.
