Three men detained for kidnapping a man from Vulcănești

Three men were detained by the police on suspicion of kidnapping a 49-year-old man from the Vulcănești district. Following six months of investigations, law enforcement officers identified the suspects as members of a criminal group active in Gagauzia.

Law enforcement officers carried out 11 searches at the homes of the suspects. During these searches, they seized several pieces of evidence, including the vehicle used in the kidnapping, two unregistered smooth-bore hunting rifles, ammunition, homemade drug paraphernalia, 1,550 euros, as well as mobile phones and SIM cards.

Arrest warrants were issued for the three suspects, and a criminal case has been opened. If convicted, they could face prison sentences ranging from 10 to 13 years.

Investigations are ongoing to identify any additional individuals involved in the crime.
