Moldova museums honored at Excellence Gala

Museum professionals and researchers were honored. The Museum Excellence Gala was held at the National Museum of History of Moldova to recognize excellence in the heritage field.

The Ministry of Culture Trophy was awarded to the Avdarma Village History Museum, a true cultural hub in the Gagauz autonomy.
The museum in Avdarma opened on November 21, 2011, and documents the most tragic chapters in the history of the locality: deportations, repression, and famine.

"We have unique materials from the 1946-47 famine period: 16 original documents recording deaths from dystrophy," says the founder of the Avdarma Museum, Ignat Cazmalî.
The dedication of the employees of the Edineț Museum, which is celebrating 50 years of activity, was also recognized.
"We are one of the museums with free entry for visitors, and as a result, we have over five thousand visitors annually from many countries," notes the director of the Edineț Museum, Galina Mosoric.
Behind the valuable museum pieces are the people who keep records and showcase the heritage. Among them is Valeriu Bubulici, who has been a researcher at the National Museum of History of Moldova for two decades.
Like museum professionals worldwide, we strive to preserve what we have. It is the history of our nation, the history of our land, the history of our country.
Those who were honored took to the stage to receive recognition for their work and dedication.
"They are people dedicated to this field, people who have invested their heart and passion in preserving and promoting cultural heritage in the localities where we have museums that we plan to develop," says the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture, Vlad Vornic.

The Museum Excellence Gala precedes the European Night of Museums, which will take place today, from 5:00 PM until midnight, with free admission, and International Museum Day on May 18, when visitors will also have free access to all exhibitions.
