Romanians in Moldova vote for Pro-EU president

Today is the last day of voting in the Republic of Moldova and among the Romanian diaspora for the Romanian presidential elections.
Queues formed at some polling stations open on the left bank of the Prut. Voters here view the second round as a decisive moment that could influence both Romania's future and the evolution of relations with the Republic of Moldova.
The key message from most voters on the left bank of the Prut is the desire for Romania to have a president who will support the Republic of Moldova's European path.
"We want a pro-European president, because Moldova's road also leads to Europe, but Romania is our gate to Europe."
"A pro-European president, who will help everyone, just as others were helped when they joined the European Union."
We are a small and divided country. We are pulling in different directions. That's why I voted for a good future. My children are in Bucharest and I want to be able to travel easily to and from them, and to live better.
Other voters told us they see the already existing relationship between the two banks of the Prut as the foundation of a potential reunification.
If there is a president of all Romanians, it will be easier for us to unite, to remove the border at the Prut.
Romania and Moldova have been together for many years, we collaborate, we have many ties. We must be together.
The second round is seen by some Romanians as a decisive moment, both for Romania and for the relationship with the Republic of Moldova.
"I even returned yesterday from there (ed. note - from Romania). They said that, after the first round, they noticed how we voted and they liked the direction we took."
It is a decisive vote, compared to the first round.
