Gheorghe Budeanu nominated to Teleradio-Moldova SDC

The Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports, and Mass Media has approved the nomination of Gheorghe Budeanu as a member of the Supervisory and Development Council (SDC) for "Teleradio-Moldova," the national public broadcaster.

The proposal will now be submitted to the Parliament's plenary session for official approval.

This nomination follows the resignation of Sergiu Stanciu. Gheorghe Budeanu was proposed by the Action and Solidarity Party Faction.

According to information presented during the committee meeting, Gheorghe Budeanu possesses extensive experience in journalism and communication. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Journalism at the State University of Moldova, having subsequently worked as a reporter, editor, and deputy editor-in-chief for several national publications. From 2012 to 2017, he coordinated institutional communication at the National Institute of Justice and continues to edit the institution's scientific journal.

He is also the author of nine volumes of prose and non-fiction, an acclaimed writer who has received numerous literary awards and was decorated for his participation in the defense of the Republic of Moldova's independence.

The Supervisory and Development Council of "Teleradio-Moldova" comprises seven members, appointed by Parliament for a six-year term: three proposed by parliamentary factions and four nominated by civil society organizations.
