End-of-school year celebrated today in many schools

The solemn end-of-school-year ceremony, known as the Last Ring of the Bell, takes place today, May 30, in most educational institutions across the capital and several schools throughout the Republic of Moldova. While the Ministry of Education and Research recommended scheduling the ceremony either after the final lessons of the day or on Saturday, May 31, most institutions in Chisinau chose to hold the event in the morning.

During the festivities, students who have achieved outstanding results and teachers who have excelled throughout the school year are awarded. This ceremony marks the official conclusion of the courses.

In Chisinau, municipal authorities reported that 146 out of 150 educational institutions decided to hold the "Last Ring of the Bell" ceremony on Friday morning after consulting with parents and school principals. Representatives from the municipal administration stated that this format aligns with tradition and creates a more festive atmosphere for students.

The Ministry of Education emphasized its policy of institutional autonomy, indicating that each school has the flexibility to establish its own program based on internal decisions.

We remind you that last year, prior to September 1, a circular was issued allowing schools to determine the time and date of the festivities marking the start of the school year. Of the 1,201 schools in the country, 108 chose to hold their ceremonies on Sunday, September 1, while the remaining schools held theirs on Monday, September 2.
