Oleg Serebrean and Vladislav Kulminski approved as Moldova’s ambassadors to Turkey and the USA

The Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee of Parliament has today approved favorable advisory opinions for the appointment of two new ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova. Career diplomat Oleg Serebrean will be appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Turkey, while public policy and conflict resolution expert Vladislav Kulminski will be appointed as the Ambassador to the United States of America.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, emphasized that the appointments of Oleg Serebrean and Vladislav Kulminski reflect the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to a professional and capable diplomatic service. "Both Mr. Oleg Serebrean and Mr. Vladislav Kulminski are professionals with extensive experience in foreign affairs and public policy. I am confident that they will significantly contribute to strengthening our bilateral relations with Turkey and the United States, two strategic partners for our country," stated Popșoi.

The new Ambassadors approved:

Oleg Serebrean is a career diplomat holding the rank of ambassador. He has more than 30 years of experience in public and diplomatic service. Previously, he served as the Republic of Moldova's Ambassador to France and Germany. Since 2022, he has been Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration. He holds a doctorate in political science and has studied in France, the United Kingdom, and Chișinău. Serebrean has received numerous national and international awards for his diplomatic, academic, and literary contributions, including the prestigious "Star of Romania."

Vladislav Kulminski is an expert in foreign policy, conflict resolution, and strategic planning. He previously served as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration and as an Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy. He has worked with international organizations such as the UN, the World Bank, and GIZ, and has participated in diplomatic missions to Ukraine, Belarus, and Turkey. Kulminski holds two master's degrees in public administration and international relations, is a Fulbright scholar, and has participated in the Munich Security Conference.

The appointment of these two ambassadors still requires approval from the President of the Republic of Moldova.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu also confirmed that Oleg Serebrean and Vladislav Kulminski will be appointed as ambassadors to Turkey and the United States, respectively. He mentioned that Prime Minister Dorin Recean will soon propose a new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
