The Youth March for a European Future commenced at the intersection of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard and Ismail Str. in Chisinau.

With drums and European Union flags in hand, the young participants chanted slogans such as: “From Cahul to Briceni – we are all Europeans,” “Moldova in the EU,” “Europe, we want you,” and “Moldovan, legally European.”

"If four years ago EU integration felt like a distant dream, today, we stand proudly among the leaders of European integration among all candidate countries. We have drawn inspiration from our neighbors across the Prut River, our brothers in the Balkans, and others. Each of you has contributed your efforts, whether big or small, to support our European journey," said a participant in the march.

The Republic of Moldova is currently in the process of joining the European Union, a strategic endeavor that requires implementing complex reforms and gradually aligning national legislation with European norms and standards.

In June 2022, our country and Ukraine officially received candidate status for EU accession. This milestone followed the recommendations from the European Commission and the decisions made by EU leaders.

The European Council will approve the opening of accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova by the end of 2023.

Additionally, on May 28, the Government approved the National EU Accession Program for 2025–2029. The estimated cost for implementing this program is around 66 billion lei. Funding will come from the state budget, external assistance—including European funds—and other sources. The plan will be updated annually, starting in October, by incorporating the recommendations and benchmarks set in the European Commission's annual progress report, along with other commitments made during the accession negotiations for Moldova’s entry into the EU.
