Postal voting registration opens for September 28 parliamentary elections

Starting today, Moldovan citizens who have the right to vote and will be in the United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Australia, or New Zealand on September 28, the day of the parliamentary elections, can register to vote by mail.
According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), registration is mandatory for all voters who wish to use postal or courier services as an alternative voting method. This procedure aims to determine the actual number of interested voters and create the appropriate electoral lists.
The registration process can be completed online through the official CEC website or via the direct link: https://inregistrare.cec.md.
To register for postal voting, a voter must fill out an online form that requires the following information: their full postal address for receiving the voting materials; contact details, including an email address and phone number; and a photo of themselves taken simultaneously with the identity document that confirms their right to vote. Acceptable identity documents include a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova (even if expired), an identity card, or a citizen's identity card of the Republic of Moldova.
The CEC emphasizes that previous registrations for the presidential elections and the referendum of 2024 are no longer valid. Therefore, voters must register again to vote by mail in the upcoming autumn elections.
The registration deadline is August 14.
We remind you that on May 29, Parliament approved a draft law in the second reading, which expands the list of countries from which Moldovans can vote by mail in the autumn elections.
