Eighty companies from the Republic of Moldova were awarded grants totalling approximately 22 million lei, which will lead to investments exceeding 42 million lei in the economy. These funds will be used to purchase high-performance equipment and to digitize work processes. As a result, businesses will become more competitive, and new, well-paying jobs will be created. The financial support is provided by the Government and the European Union through the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA).

Ion Rusu, from Călărași, manages a company that specializes in cutting and planning wood, sawing, and carpentry work. His business also manufactures veneers and wooden panels. He received a 180,000 lei grant to improve the efficiency of his operations.

"I applied for this grant out of necessity because I needed a forklift to make my work easier. Fortunately, I was accepted and received funding to purchase this forklift. The process was very simple; I did not encounter any difficulties," Ion explains.

Cornelia Revencu is the owner of a family bakery located in the city of Ștefan Vodă. She is supported by her eldest son, Adrian Revencu, who has been involved in the business since a young age. Through two programs, the bakery has received a total of 1.2 million lei in funding.

"We manage an artisan bakery that has been active since 2012, baking bread, traditional rolls, buns, and other dough products," says Cornelia Revencu.

"This is the second grant we have benefited from. The first grant was for a re-technological project, where we received 600,000 lei to invest in photovoltaic panels. As a result, we can now say that we are energy independent. The second grant, which we have recently received, was through a program for female entrepreneurs. We again received 600,000 lei, and this grant is focused on modernizing our packaging equipment," Adrian Revencu said.

According to Vadim Codreanu, the organization's director, the programs managed by ODA provide not only access to financing but also a genuine partnership for individuals who are shaping the economic future of the Republic of Moldova.

Out of the 80 beneficiaries we announced earlier, 49 will be signing contracts under the Start for Youth program. This means that 49 individuals represent 60% of the total contracts today, all aimed at launching new businesses. This demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial spirit among young people in the Republic of Moldova, who are eager and willing to take on the risks involved.

Doina Nistor, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, stated that the authorities will continue to support those who wish to build and work in the Republic of Moldova.

"Whenever I discuss the economic future of the Republic of Moldova, I emphasize three simple yet essential concepts: added value, innovation, and technology. We envision an economy that creates rather than just consumes—an economy that exports truly valuable products instead of merely raw materials. It is important that you, the entrepreneurs, receive a fair price for what you produce. This is our vision, which is taking shape every day, including through the allocation of these 80 grants that we are proudly providing today for local entrepreneurs."

We remind you that 300 companies have received grants through ODA, totaling 120 million lei since the beginning of the year. This financial support is expected to generate investments exceeding 232 million lei in the Republic of Moldova's economy.

210 of the companies awarded grants are funded from the state budget, while 83 receive financial support from the European Union through the "European Union for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" project. Additionally, four companies have been supported by the World Bank Group, and three have received assistance through the "EU4Moldova: Local Communities" program, which the European Union and the governments of Germany, Austria, and Poland finance.
