CEC decides to recount votes from Boldurești

The Central Electoral Commission approved a request for a recount of votes in the Boldurești commune, Nisporeni district, submitted by independent candidate Sergiu Bulicanu. According to the CEC's decision, which was made during a meeting on June 4, the results of the recount will be reported by June 8 at the latest.
In his application, Sergiu Bulicanu alleges that several irregularities occurred during the elections in Boldurești, which influenced the final results of the vote held on June 1. Bulicanu contends that "irregularities were admitted that affected the vote counting process within the polling stations." He states that the process "was flawed by a series of errors and omissions" reported by his representatives and some members of the electoral bureaus involved.
As evidence, he cites discrepancies between "the number of ballots extracted from the ballot box and the number of signatures on the electoral lists," a lack of transparency in the vote counting and totaling process, the invalidation of 24 ballots without allowing bureau members to verify their content, a significant number of requests to vote at residents' locations, and the discovery of about five ballots in the ballot box that did not have the required voting stamp applied. According to the plaintiff, these issues “raise reasonable suspicions of vote fraud.”
Meanwhile, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has decided to replace the president of the electoral bureau for polling station no. 23/11 during the vote recount process.
We remind you that in the Boldurești commune of the Nisporeni district, the elections were won by Nicanor Ciochină, who received 615 votes—13 more than his opponent, Sergiu Bulicanu. Ciochină is currently facing a criminal case related to a road accident resulting in a teenager's death and was previously suspended from office by the CEC.
