Government meeting opened with moment of silence for Eugen Doga

Today's government meeting began with a moment of silence in memory of master Eugen Doga, who was laid to rest today.

"Master Eugen Doga contributed significantly to our country's cultural heritage. His passing is a loss felt by all. We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones, as well as to the entire world," stated Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Eugen Doga was laid to rest today, with Thursday designated as a day of national mourning in the Republic of Moldova.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral ceremony at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace. Doga was buried at the Central Cemetery in Chisinau.

Eugen Doga, one of the most esteemed and beloved composers in the Republic of Moldova, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, at 88.
