Chișinău ranks top 10 in Europe for remote work trips

Chișinău has been ranked 8th among Europe’s best destinations for remote work combined with leisure—commonly known as "workcations"—according to a study by Compare the Market AU.
The analysis assessed 50 European cities based on digital infrastructure and tourism appeal, considering factors such as internet speed, the number of co-working spaces, local coffee prices, and nearby attractions.
Moldova’s capital stood out with an average internet speed of 73.88 Mbps and the lowest average price for a cup of coffee among the top 10 cities—just €1.39. Currently, there are at least nine co-working spaces available in the city, and this number is expected to grow.
Roman Vitiuc, a representative of the Chișinău Municipal Council, emphasized the city’s relaxed pace of life, abundance of green spaces, traditional cuisine, affordable wine tastings, and overall cost-effectiveness. Additional attractions include its cultural events, weekend markets, and expanding digital infrastructure.
Chișinău’s inclusion in the top 10 confirms its growing reputation as a peaceful, affordable, and digitally equipped destination for remote workers. The top three cities in the ranking were London, Seville, and Barcelona.
