Moldova’s Embassy in Israel suspends regular consular services due to security concerns

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel informs the public that, due to the current security situation in the region, the consular section is temporarily suspending all ordinary consular services. Only emergency assistance will be provided during this time. The embassy will exclusively issue travel documents and will address exceptional cases. We remind you that Israel's airspace remains closed indefinitely.
Moldovan citizens who wish to leave the country are informed that land routes through Egypt and Jordan are still available for individual evacuation.
The Embassy urges all citizens to continue following shelter-in-place instructions during rocket attacks and to adhere to local authorities' recommendations.
In case of emergencies, Moldovans in Israel can contact embassy representatives at +972 52 278 73 26 and +972 52 778 97 72.
We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively monitoring the situation and is collaborating with Israeli authorities and international partners to identify safe evacuation or transit solutions.
The conflict between Israel and Iran escalated sharply on June 13, 2025, when Israel launched a large-scale military operation called "Rising Lion." This operation targeted Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites, including the Natanz uranium enrichment center and locations in Tehran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran had accumulated enough enriched uranium to potentially build up to 15 nuclear bombs within a matter of days.
In response, Iran launched over 100 drones and ballistic missiles aimed at Israeli cities.
The escalation has provoked strong international reactions: while the United States denied any direct involvement, Israeli officials claim there was coordination. Russia, China, Turkey, and several Arab nations condemned Israel's actions, and both the European Union and the Republic of Moldova issued travel warnings.
