Haifa's hope: Triplets born in bunker hospital

Life is stranger than fiction! While the city of Haifa faces the constant threat of Iranian attacks, a woman has given birth to triplets in a hospital sheltered in a bunker.

The delivery took place under the safest possible conditions, far from the danger of rockets. Both the mother and her three baby girls are in good condition, doctors announced.
The woman gave birth prematurely at Rambam Hospital, which is currently operating in its fortified underground facility due to the military conflict with Iran. Doctors say everything went smoothly, even amidst these harsh conditions.
"I saw the mother this morning; she's feeling well. She has already been to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to see her babies. She has three premature baby girls. She's overjoyed; these are her first children. Both the babies and she are doing well," recounts Dr. Yaniv Zipori.
Triplet births are rare, and in wartime conditions, managing such a case is even more complex, with potential for additional problems.
"We don't have triplet births very often—only a few times a year. But now, the timing is more difficult for us because of this transitional period. In wartime, it's more complicated to manage such a case," the doctor added.

Rambam Hospital, which has a capacity for 2,100 people, has now been fully relocated to an underground bunker facility, where it is treating around 600 patients. The medical facility includes operating rooms, maternity wards, and a kindergarten for staff children.
