The Transnistria region is being used by the Russian Federation as a destabilizing tool against the Republic of Moldova, according to Government spokesperson Daniel Vodă.

This statement comes as the districts along the left bank of the Dniester River face an acute economic crisis. The region no longer sells electricity, and production volumes have dropped dramatically.

Tiraspol has declared a state of economic emergency, yet despite this, they still organized tank drills today with Russian troops illegally stationed in the Republic of Moldova, under the pretext of re-enacting a historical event.

"The unconstitutional authorities along the left bank of the Dniester are increasingly introducing fabricated topics and messages into the public sphere, aiming to fuel tensions," Daniel Vodă stated after yesterday's Government meeting.

According to him, the Chișinău Executive is calmly monitoring the situation and reacting only based on verified facts.

The Government also stresses that Tiraspol cannot expect benefits without respecting human rights and certain commitments.

Daniel Vodă recalled that Chișinău, together with the European Union, proposed a support plan for the Transnistrian region, including gas deliveries. This plan is conditional on concrete measures such as the release of political prisoners, free access for journalists on both sides of the river, and the removal of unauthorized infrastructure.

"We want one thing: for the Republic of Moldova – in its entirety – to remain a place of peace, stability, and development," the Government spokesperson said.

Previously, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu also stated that this crisis in the Transnistrian region was being fueled by the Russian Federation, which had repeatedly reduced gas volumes to the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova.
