Moldovan citizens safely evacuated from Israel
Nineteen Moldovan citizens have returned from Israel following a successful evacuation coordinated by the Moldovan Embassy in Israel and the Ukrainian Embassy in Tel Aviv, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry reported that the evacuation proceeded smoothly: the citizens were transferred from Israel to Egypt, where they boarded a flight arranged by the Ukrainian authorities.
On the evening of June 22, all 19 Moldovans arrived safely in Chișinău.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the Ukrainian diplomats in Tel Aviv and Chișinău for their contribution to the success of the mission.
Since June 13, Israel has launched a series of airstrikes targeting nuclear and military sites in Iran, triggering a sharp escalation in the Middle East conflict. Both nations have exchanged retaliatory attacks, and last weekend, the United States carried out strikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities.
In response to the deteriorating security situation, Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to leave Israel. In recent days, dozens of Moldovans have requested information about evacuation options, and twelve citizens had returned home the previous week.
