Over 2,400 people with severe disabilities to receive a one-off financial aid of 5,000 lei each
Over 2,400 adults with severe disabilities will each receive 5,000 lei from the state. This decision follows the government's June 24 expansion of the list of beneficiaries eligible for single financial aid under the "Buget +PLUS" program, which is financially supported by the European Union.
During a government meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, stated, "We continued our efforts and identified an additional 2,400 adults with severe disabilities who had a different status in the social protection system. We also aim to offer them support because our commitment is clear: each adult with severe disabilities in the Republic of Moldova will receive 5,000 lei."
The financial support that the Government initially announced as "single financial aid for Easter" was intended for families with children with disabilities, individuals with severe disabilities who receive pensions or social allowances, and children up to the age of five.
In total, over 227,000 individuals benefited from this one-time Easter aid.
Minister Buzu also expressed gratitude, saying, "I want to once again thank the European Union for their unconditional support, which enables the Government to provide universal compensation to families in the Republic of Moldova, including assistance to cover the increase in electricity tariffs."
