Vice‑President of the European Parliament Nicolae Ștefănuță visits Chișinău

Nicolae Ștefănuță, the Vice-President of the European Parliament, will officially visit Chișinău on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in his role as the High Representative for Democracy Support in the Republic of Moldova. During his visit, he will meet with President Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu to discuss the country's democratic priorities and the ongoing cooperation with European institutions.

Following this, the Member of the European Parliament (MEP) will hold a press conference to emphasize the European Parliament's commitment to strengthening democratic institutions in the Republic of Moldova. The discussion will center on combating disinformation, preventing foreign interference, and ensuring the integrity of upcoming legislative elections.

Nicolae Ștefănuță will also discuss the European Parliament's specific contributions to the democratic development of the Republic of Moldova, which include providing technical assistance, fostering interparliamentary cooperation, and offering electoral support.
