Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced plans to expand drone production with allies, even beyond the war, dpa reports.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced the United States would send new weapons to Ukraine, after the White House said last week it was suspending some deliveries, AFP reports.

"We're working with partners to ensure their countries' production operates at full capacity—both for our common defense today and for our partners' post-war arsenals," Zelenskyy said in a speech on the evening of July 7.

He added that this cooperation would involve all countries able to assist with investments, individual components, and production facilities.

"Step by step, we're covering the funding gap for drone and interceptor drone production," Zelenskyy added, as quoted by Agerpres.

Last week, Kyiv signed new agreements on drone production in Denmark, and Zelenskyy announced a meeting of the so-called "coalition of the willing," led by the UK and France, around the reconstruction conference planned for July 10 and 11 in Rome.

The main topic will continue to be air defense, particularly against drone attacks, as Ukraine has been defending itself from a Russian invasion for over three years.

Due to the growing number of Russian drone attacks on targets deep inside Ukrainian territory, Kyiv is urging supporting states to provide new military aid.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced on July 7 that the United States would be sending new weapons to Ukraine.

"We'll have to send more weapons, mainly defensive ones," Donald Trump declared, expressing his "displeasure" with his Kremlin counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

A week ago, the Trump administration unexpectedly announced it was suspending deliveries of certain types of weapons to Kyiv, citing concerns about dwindling US munitions stockpiles.

"This decision was made to put America's interests first," the White House justified.

The US has been Ukraine's foremost military supporter since the Russian invasion began in February 2022.

According to Politico and other US media, the suspension of deliveries to Kyiv specifically targeted Patriot air defense systems, precision artillery, and missiles.
