Moldova\'s Youth Forum: Educating future voters

Over 500 students—from high school to university—and teachers across the country participated in an intellectual competition focused on civic engagement, electoral education, and European values.

Fifty teams were formed, and top performers were awarded prizes. The event also featured a university fair, where institutions showcased their programs to prospective students.

"We've participated in many university events related to the electoral process. That's why we're prepared; we're active citizens," said Olesea Paladi, a university student.

"Voting means entrusting someone with the power to represent our interests, principles, and values. If a lack of information persists, then subsequent complaints are bound to arise," stated Mădălina Zlati, from Mihai Eminescu High School in Cimișlia.

"Electoral education is what guarantees our future. Without it, we risk jeopardizing it," asserted Maria Stoian, a teacher.

During the four rounds, participants were required to answer six questions.

"This project focuses on electoral education and the inclusion of young people in the electoral process. Its goal is to encourage young people aged 18 to 25 to be as active as possible during elections," declared Evghenii Poleacov, president of the Intellectual Games Association.

Additionally, several universities showcased their educational programs. Alexandru Mihalache, a student at the State University's Faculty of Economic Sciences, shared his experience with high school graduates.

"Our study programs are very appealing. We offer dual degrees with universities in Romania, and our programs are constantly updated with input from the job market, ensuring we provide not just theory but also substantial practical experience," said student Alexandru Mihalache.

Meanwhile, representatives from "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogical University captivated the audience with a range of innovative devices.

"We're showcasing robots, including sphero-robots, VR headsets, and augmented reality. This helps us encourage innovation in pedagogy and teaching," stated Dumitru Juraveli, head of department at "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogical University.

The activities were part of the second annual National Forum "I Know What I'm Voting For!"
