More than 50 residents from the village of Colibași, Cahul district, spent a day in the locality of Corten, Taraclia district. During their visit, they explored various educational and cultural institutions, attended the village church, and visited the museum, where they learned about Bulgarian traditions. This visit was part of the National Program "Mosaic," which is implemented by the Interethnic Relations Agency.

The locals provided visitors with an authentic experience designed to foster intercultural dialogue between the communities.

“Our goal is to create twinning relationships between our villages and our peoples”.

“We decided to show them how Bulgarians live as part of the Moldovan community. We hope that in the future we can collaborate on joint projects,” said people.

“We do not know our neighbors, those who live next to us. We are unaware that they are also working to develop their villages, towns, and cities. We all must visit each other, get to know the neighboring communities, and the friends who live close by,” said Stepan Tanurcov, the mayor of the village of Corten.

The visitors were impressed by the places they toured.

“We come from the village of Colibași as part of the Mosaic project. We were deeply impressed by the places we visited—the local church, the museum, and the overall beauty of the area, along with the warm hospitality we experienced,” they said.

The National Program "Mosaic" aims to strengthen social cohesion and intercultural dialogue in the Republic of Moldova.

“Workshops are held to discuss the cultural aspects of each community, and we also explore potential joint projects. We would love for these partnerships to continue even after the completion of the Mosaic program,” said Veaceslav Reabcinschi, director of the Interethnic Relations Agency.

The "Mosaic" program was launched at the end of June.
