A total of 745 applications for funding were submitted under the "Green House" program. In just two weeks since the launch of the application session, the program has reached its maximum funding ceiling for the year. The total value of the submitted projects amounts to 149 million lei, according to the Ministry of Energy.

Families who own individual houses can access financing through the "Green House" program, which was launched as part of the Moldovan Residential Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM) to improve their energy efficiency.

Ion Muntean, the Director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy, highlighted the growing interest among citizens in the program, stating that it reflects the effectiveness of the application process and people's desire to make their homes more energy-efficient.

"The first stage of the Green House financing product has been successfully completed, providing an organized and accessible way to submit applications," said Ion Muntean.

The "Green House" program aims to improve energy consumption in individual homes across the Republic of Moldova. It is expected to facilitate the energy rehabilitation of at least 97,000 square meters of heated residential space. Households can receive grants of up to 200,000 lei, which is approximately 10,000 euros. This grant will cover around 50% of the total cost of energy efficiency improvements, according to current estimates, with the remainder to be covered by the beneficiaries.

By the end of the project, it is estimated that over 900 families will benefit from support through the "Green House" program.

The FEERM program is developed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with financial support from the European Union. It is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy and the Ministry of Energy, with backing from the “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova” (E4M) project.

E4M is implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, financed by the German Government, and co-financed by the European Union, Norway, and Denmark.
