Man from Cantemir sentenced to many years in prison for the sexual exploitation of two teenage girls from Leova

A man from Cantemir was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of two teenage girls from Leova. According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), the offences happened between October 2018 and January 2019.
Specifically, the 31-year-old man created fake accounts on a social network, through which he asked the minor victims, who were then 14 years old, for sexual images and videos. Later, after he came into possession of them, he continued to threaten them with spreading those images to other people if they did not continue to send him new ones.
Later, he threatened one of the victims that he would publish the images if she did not have sexual relations with him.
The man's illegal acts, however, were exposed and documented by law enforcement officers, and at the request of prosecutors, he was placed in preventive detention.
In this context, the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes recommends that parents and other adult family members guide children and adolescents to avoid communicating with unknown people on the Internet.
