Moldova represented by Igor Grosu at World Conference of Speakers of Parliament: Speech and high-level talks

Igor Grosu, the Speaker of Parliament, will deliver a speech at the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament. This event takes place from July 29 to 31 and is hosted at the Palace of Nations, the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
In his upcoming speech, Igor Grosu will highlight the importance of legislative institutions and citizens in safeguarding democracy and maintaining peace, as reported by the Press Service of the Parliament.
During the event, the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, has scheduled meetings with his counterparts from various countries. He will also meet with Moldovans living in Switzerland.
The agenda for this sixth edition of the meeting includes a plenary debate and several panel discussions. Topics will cover interparliamentary cooperation, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the role of parliaments in shaping the digital future, and the protection and promotion of the rights of people in vulnerable situations.
Prior to the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, there will be a Summit that gathers women who lead legislative institutions globally, organized in collaboration with the Swiss Parliament.
The World Conference of Speakers of Parliament is organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which comprises 181 parliaments and 15 regional parliamentary bodies, along with the United Nations. This meeting occurs every five years and serves as a platform for high-level engagement and dialogue among parliamentary leaders worldwide.
