IGSU: Chickens rescued from farm fire in Edineț
The poultry factory in the village of Blesteni, Edineț district, caught fire on Tuesday, July 29. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU), five rescue teams responded to the incident.
Employees from IGSU reported that the fire affected the roof of the facility and a technical room. Additionally, the control room containing feeding and egg-shaping equipment was destroyed.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, successfully saving the 36,000 chickens located in a hall beneath the damaged roof.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by specialists.
In the past 24 hours, firefighters and rescuers responded to 63 emergency situations.
