Mickels hat-trick as Sabah Baku eliminate Petrocub

Petrocub Hâncești is out of the European cups. Shota Maharadze’s men lost 1-4 away to FC Sabah Baku in the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round.
The aggregate score of the two-legged tie was 6-1 in favor of the Azerbaijanis.
All the goals in the match at Masazir were scored in the first half. German forward Joy-Lance Mickels was the star of the show. He scored in the 22nd minute and then doubled the hosts' lead in the 28th. Petrocub pulled one back thanks to an own goal by defender Steve Solvet. However, just before the break, FC Sabah confirmed their dominance with two more goals. Mickels scored again to complete his hat-trick, and Pavol Šafranko also got on the scoresheet.
The second half was largely uneventful. FC Sabah controlled the game and created a few more scoring opportunities, but couldn't find the net.
As a result, the Azerbaijani side will advance to the third qualifying round of the Conference League, where they will face either Sporting Braga or Levski Sofia.
