Entrepreneurship center opens in Cărpineni to support Hâncești businesses

Entrepreneurs in the Hâncești district now have the opportunity to develop their businesses locally. For the past two years, a Business Consulting Center has been operating in Cărpineni, providing support to residents who wish to turn their ideas into reality without needing to travel to Chișinău. This initiative is especially valuable as it not only bolsters the rural economy but also helps individuals pursue their dreams of success in their own villages.

Sergiu Chirinciuc is an entrepreneur from Cărpineni, Hâncești, who benefited from business consulting services. He successfully purchased the necessary equipment to open a fresh pasta factory.

"I acquired refrigeration equipment for my company. Good consulting is always appreciated. Having access to useful and accurate information is invaluable. In all my projects, I contributed my own efforts, but the grant funding, which essentially came at no cost, was very welcome," said entrepreneur Sergiu Chirinciuc.

Tatiana Teacă also opened a restaurant after consulting with business specialists. A year later, she expressed her satisfaction with having a secure job in her village.

"We believe we serve as an example that it is possible to grow professionally in our country. We have been open for a year and a half, and we are doing very well. In the future, we plan to launch an event restaurant and offer catering services," said entrepreneur Tatiana Teacă in an interview with Moldova 1 TV.

Mayors in the Hâncești region have also received support in writing funding proposals.

"In 2023, we installed a playground. In 2024, we repaired the kindergarten by replacing the windows, and recently, in 2025, we improved access to the gymnasium by paving a 140-meter sidewalk," explained Valentin Chiorescu, the mayor of Bălceana.

"The most important goal for our community is to help local businesses thrive so that residents can stay, work, and grow here. Ultimately, the economic benefits, including all savings and taxes, must remain within the community," stated Mihai Frija, the mayor of Cărpineni.

"As a result of the positive outcomes we've seen, the center's area of activity is expanding to cover 20 communities. There are currently 70 communities in the 'Mayors for Economic Growth' network within the Republic of Moldova, all of which are direct beneficiaries of the project," explained Veaceslav Bulat, UNDP project manager.

The Business Consulting Center in Cărpineni was opened in 2023 and has so far supported over 60 entrepreneurs.
