New EU-funded project transforms Chișinău theater

The Fără Nume Theater in Chișinău is set for a major transformation. The institution's headquarters will be renovated, and the services offered to the public will also include film screenings in a modern Cinema Hub.
The changes will take place as part of a large-scale cultural project with a budget of over 1.4 million euros, supported by the Interreg NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova Program and funded by the European Union.
The project will be implemented by the Public Institution "Ginta Latină" Center of Culture and Art in Chișinău and the "George Enescu" National Atheneum in Iași.
According to Nicu Țărnă, General Director of "Ginta Latină," the project includes the rehabilitation of the Fără Nume Theater building, screenings of Romanian and local films, theater and cinema co-productions, as well as cultural events and exchanges between Chișinău and Iași.
"Through this partnership, we aim not only to revitalize our cultural space but also to actively contribute to a network of artistic collaboration between Romania and the Republic of Moldova," said Nicu Țărnă.
It's worth noting that the Fără Nume Theater, which was known until 2018 as the "Republican Theater for Children and Youth," was founded on August 1, 1989, by the renowned theater personality from the Republic of Moldova, Ion Sandri Șcurea.
