ELECTIONS 2025 // Andrei Năstase and the Coalition for Unity and Welfare registered for the September 28 vote

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered two more candidates for the parliamentary elections on Wednesday, August 6.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered two more candidates on Wednesday, August 6, for the parliamentary elections on September 28.

These include the Political Party Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB), which was officially registered with a list of 53 candidates for deputy positions in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The CEC also approved the party’s electoral symbol, confirmed its representative within the Commission, and the person responsible for finances (the treasurer).

During the same meeting, the CEC registered Andrei Năstase’s candidacy as an independent candidate and approved his designated treasurer to manage his campaign funds.

Previously, the CEC registered two other political formations for the September 28 parliamentary elections — the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), with a list of 101 candidates registered on July 27, and the “Democracy at Home” Party, with 62 validated candidates on July 30.

According to the CEC, these four registered electoral entities will appear in the following order on the ballot:

PAS

Democracy at Home

CUB

Andrei Năstase

Besides the parties already registered for the parliamentary elections on September 28, other parties and independent candidates are awaiting decisions from the Central Electoral Commission.

The Political Party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) submitted an application to register a list of 54 candidates, and the documents are currently under review. Similarly, the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Heart, and Future of Moldova submitted the necessary paperwork but has not yet received a registration decision.

Also, 16 independent candidates are either collecting signatures or waiting for their submitted files to be validated for election registration.

The deadline for submitting candidacy documents is August 19, 2025.

We remind you that on July 19, the CEC refused to register the Electoral Bloc “Victorie” for participation in the elections, a decision upheld by the courts.
