Forecasters have issued a yellow heat warning for the south of the country. This warning is in effect for August 9 and 10.

During this period, the maximum air temperature in the affected areas is expected to reach 33°C.

Meanwhile, a yellow code warning for exceptional natural fire danger remains in effect until August 14.

According to meteorologists, an increased risk of fires will persist in southern, eastern, and parts of central Moldova over the next six days, due to high temperatures and a lack of rainfall.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) warns that with the current high winds and temperatures, any ignition source could trigger large-scale fires, especially in areas with dry vegetation. Authorities are therefore urging the public to be responsible and strictly follow fire prevention rules.
