Explosive near Stăuceni mayor’s home: PAS leader reacts

A serious incident occurred last night in Stauceni, where a package containing explosives was thrown into the garden of the local mayor's home, Alexandru Vornicu, who is a member of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). Igor Grosu, the leader of the PAS, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as "a despicable and barbaric attempt to intimidate those who are fighting for justice and a better life at home."
The president of PAS expressed confidence that the police will thoroughly document the case and that the perpetrators will be held accountable.
Diana Fetco, a spokesperson for the General Inspectorate of Police, confirmed to Teleradio Moldova that the police officially registered the case and are actively working to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the attack.
In a statement to Teleradio Moldova, Mayor Alexandru Vornicu reported waking up to a loud explosion. He noted that surveillance camera footage captured an individual throwing an explosive from a car before fleeing the scene.
"I have not received any direct threats, but I believe this is an act of intimidation related to my position. Some individuals may desire outcomes that differ from what is stipulated by law, and we cannot accept that," the mayor stated.
Police gathered evidence from the scene, and investigations are ongoing.

"What happened is serious and inexplicable. At 1:57 a.m., someone in a car parked in front of my house, threw an explosive device, and then drove away. The police are going to document the case,” the mayor stated on his Facebook page.
