Concordia launches school supply drive for 750 children
A charity drive aiming to collect school bags and school supplies for 750 children from vulnerable families will take place on August 15 and 16 in several stores across Chișinău, Hâncești, and Bălți.
The "I Want to Learn Too!" drive, organized by the "Concordia" association, is now in its ninth edition.
For two days, volunteers and members of the "Concordia" team will be at several shops in Chișinău, Bălți, and Hâncești, encouraging people to donate notebooks, pencils, and other school supplies.
Then, on August 18 and 19, the items will be sorted and placed into school bags, according to lists provided by the beneficiaries. Finally, on August 22, the 750 children will receive their school bags, complete with all the essentials for school.
"The beneficiaries are children going through difficult times—children we know, whom we've helped with homework, provided with clothes and warm meals, and whose development we've followed. For some of them, this will be the first new school bag in their lives," the campaign organizers state.
Last year, 692 children in the Republic of Moldova received school bags filled with school supplies as part of the same drive.
