EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos starts new visit to Moldova

European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova from September 3 to 5. Her agenda includes discussions with government representatives on reforms and the European path, meetings with investors and entrepreneurs on economic prospects, as well as dialogues with journalists, influencers and content creators.

According to the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau, Marta Kos is set to visit several cultural and religious heritage sites, where she will engage directly with citizens and the media, both in Causeni and in the Causeni district.

Marta Kos's visit follows recent official trips by members of the European Commission. On September 1-2, Christophe Hansen, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, visited Chisinau, and Glenn Micallef, the European Commissioner for Intergenerational Equity, Youth, Culture, and Sport, was also in the area during that time.

We remind you that Marta Kos previously visited the Republic of Moldova from May 8 to 12, 2025, along with a delegation of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and European Commission officials, in celebration of Europe Day. During this visit, she participated in the inauguration of the "European Village" in Ungheni, where she met with local producers and entrepreneurs in the agri-food sector. The regional visits included stops in Orhei, Negureni, Edineț, Bălți, Comrat, Cahul, and Văleni, where the Commissioner interacted with young people, teachers, local authorities, and business owners. During this occasion, several projects supported by the European Union were inaugurated, including educational centers, agri-food hubs, markets for local producers, and initiatives aimed at promoting internationally recognized tourism.
