Ireland edge past Moldova U21 in Nisporeni friendly

The team coached by Sergiu Cebotari was defeated by Ireland, 2-1, in a friendly match played in Nisporeni.
The "Young Tricolors" took the lead with a goal from Mihai Lupan in the 23rd minute. The visitors, however, equalized before halftime, with Mason Melia scoring.
The same player, Mason Melia, scored the winner for the Irish in the second half, in the 74th minute. This result leaves Ireland, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Moldova all with three points in their preliminary group, although the "Young Tricolors" have played one more match. In the same group, Slovakia and England have not yet played a match.
