Premiere: movie "Mario, Maria, Marinel" released

The long-awaited cinema premiere took place in Chisinau with the release of the film "Mario, Maria, Marinel." Directed by Violeta Gorgos, this production was created by a dedicated team of enthusiasts. Filming occurred in the homes of the director's parents and grandparents in Fundurii Vechi, Glodeni district. The film has already been selected for several prestigious international festivals.
The film tells the story of a village woman, Maria, and her son - Marinel. They live a quiet life, waiting for their husband who is working abroad to return. The return of their childhood friend, Felicia, who has become a soloist in Vienna, along with her husband, Mario, has disturbed the family's peace. Diana Decuseară plays the role of Maria.
"I created this character based on the environment in which I grew up. I was born in the countryside. The women in my life are reflected in this character," said actress Diana Decuseară.
The role of Felicia, the diva from Vienna, was played by the famous opera singer Valentina Naforniţă.
"As soloists, we are rarely included in plays and this time it was a huge chance for me and I am thrilled that they thought of me and invited me", said soprano Valentina Naforniţă.
The film was made with the support of the National Cinematography Center. Initially, director Violeta Gorgos submitted another script.
"It was a more complex script, it was different, but we are talking about a different film. We kept the relationship between the protagonists from there, we kept the title of the film. Otherwise, we changed, adapted, did everything to fit into the minimal budget we had", said Violeta Gorgos.
It is a film about migration, focusing on the impact of this phenomenon on family relationships.
"It's a film made by us, about us, for us, and I don't think that happens every day. This film, which, theoretically, we say looks into the village gossip. It's about our society, because the village gossip is associated with our entire society," emphasized producer Virgiliu Mărgineanu.
"Mario, Maria, Marinel" had its preview at the Romanian Film Evenings in Iaşi. Now, it can be seen in cinemas in Chisinau.
