Chisinau fair: 100% natural foods from producers

This weekend, a fair in Chisinau will showcase organic products. Buyers are willing to pay a premium for 100% natural food. Vendors at the fair have certificates that verify the quality and origin of the products they offer at their stalls.

Since this morning, people have been shopping at IarmarEco. The most popular products were bakery items made from organic ingredients.
"I bought rye bread. We need to support local producers; that's the only way to discover them. You can’t find them in supermarkets."
"We come for pure organic products and for the fun activities available for children. We can find basically everything we need here."
"I already bought wholemeal rye flour and bread made from natural sourdough, as well as honey. I've seen the variety available, and now I'm looking at spices."
"I came with my children, and the first stand we visited was the one with toys. They have very interesting and inventive options, and I think we will buy a few, including some for gifts."
"Games that offer children healthy alternatives to screens are important to us. We try to keep them away from screens," says entrepreneur Igor Hîncu.

More than 50 traders participated in the event.
For those living in apartment buildings, spice pots are a practical and appealing choice. Visitors can choose from options like basil, pepper, thyme, or lemon balm, with prices starting at 30 lei per pot. Other traders also offer oils pressed on-site from sesame or apricot kernels.
“This is my goat that I bring to the fair. I milk her right here and serve you a glass of milk. There is no fresher milk than this,” says trader Nicolae Cojacaru.
“We have over 200 varieties of hot peppers with extraordinary flavors, ranging from super hot to exotic,” adds trader Cezara Bivol.
“It's salted caramel, the first product we launched. It’s the most popular one and everyone’s favorite. Prices start at 45 lei, and the most expensive option is 220 lei,” explains retailer Nadejda Hadjivu.

"Every year, we host this event in the parks of Chisinau to connect with the local community. This year, we have extended our schedule and will be a full caravan, spending two days in Chisinau. On September 14, we will be in Cricova, and on September 20, we will hold a fair in Tighina. We are expanding our reach beyond our usual locations. The unique aspect of this fair is that it features local producers who are dedicated to caring for the environment, the people, and the community," says Marina Cebanu, the event organizer.

The IarmarEco Fair is in its 14th edition.
