Medical, tourism and innovation experts meet in Chisinau forum

More than 100 delegates from 50 countries, including experts in medicine, tourism, and innovation, will gather in Chisinau for the seventh edition of the International Medical Tourism Forum, taking place from September 25 to 28.
The upcoming event will showcase the Republic of Moldova's potential as a top destination for patients worldwide seeking quality treatments at affordable prices.
Over the course of three days, Moldova will serve as a meeting point for healthcare professionals and experts in new medical technologies.
The healthcare sector in the Republic of Moldova has shown significant growth in international markets. In just five years, exports in this field have nearly tripled. In 2020, medical services for foreign patients generated over 25 million dollars, and by 2024, revenue is projected to reach approximately 64.4 million dollars.
Data from the first quarter of 2024 indicate that exports of medical services amounted to $ 14.09 million USD, while in the first quarter of 2025, this figure increased to $ 16.49 million USD, reflecting a nearly 17% increase.
The Medical Tourism Association of Moldova currently holds the presidency of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) for the period of 2024–2026. The next country to assume this position for the following two years will be elected at the Forum.
