Young people from the Center of Excellence in Energy and Electronics in Chisinau, who specialize in the installation of photovoltaic panels, will benefit from modern study conditions thanks to the support of the European Union (EU). The institution's workshop, equipped with a laboratory for studying and practicing solar panel installation, has been completely renovated and upgraded to meet the latest standards in the field. The total investments in this project exceeded 75 million lei.

The renovation and modernization of the study block cost 36 million lei, while equipping the workshop with modern technology required an additional 24 million lei.

Using its own resources, the institution invested three million lei into the renovation and furnishing of the second floor of Dormitory No. 3, which now offers 76 accommodations for students.

The modernised spaces were inaugurated on Monday, September 15, and were attended by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu; the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu; and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Galina Rusu.

"Energy and electronics are rapidly developing fields, and now young people can learn in a modern environment tailored to their needs, while teachers have tools that enhance their work efficiency", said Maia Sandu.

Minister Dorin Junghietu emphasized that the Energy Strategy for 2050 aims to cover 90% of consumption with domestic renewable resources. He noted that investments in education and technical infrastructure are crucial for training specialists needed for the energy transition and the digitalization of the sector.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, nearly 700 young people were admitted to the Center of Excellence in Energy, a significant increase from approximately 560 five years ago.

Currently, around 2,000 students are enrolled at this institution.
