Moldova election fraud: 200 ballots seized

Moldovan police have seized 200 pre-stamped ballot papers from a printing house in Chișinău, days before the country’s parliamentary elections.
The ballots were marked with "Voted" next to the name of the "Alternativa" Electoral Bloc.
Officers say the ballots were printed under contract and were intended for the "Alternativa" Bloc.
The papers were allegedly intended for use in a "carousel" scheme, a form of electoral fraud where a pre-marked ballot is inserted into a ballot box and a blank one removed. The blank ballot can then be fraudulently marked and re-inserted, continuing the cycle.
The authorities have since notified the country's Central Electoral Commission.
A representative for the "Alternativa" Bloc told Teleradio-Moldova they would respond to the allegations at 13:30 local time.
